EK
Paris
New
York, 1994
Between 1993 to 1995 I've
lived in the Island of Manhattan. I felt a strong
need to expose myself and in the begining painted
original paintings and pasted them on the street
walls.
The EK Paris project was born in 1994 when I was
pretending to be a Parisian designer. I spread
the sprayed high heel shoe ads in down town Manhattan
- while commenting on issues of absence and a
sense of being lost.
The works where caught somewhere in the interdisciplinary
area between fashion advertising and art. The
shoes have never existed as real objects. They
were mere reflections of a gaze upon the non-existing
object, a poetic stream of images and text reflecting
nothing but the unfulfilled desire.
